Dyslexia Reader Assist Privacy Policy

Dyslexia Reader Assist (“Dyslexia Reader Assist”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a browser extension that provides reading-support tools for web pages, including text-to-speech, dyslexia-friendly font changes, spacing changes, text size changes, reading ruler features, colour underlays, and toolbar controls.

Dyslexia Reader Assist does not intentionally collect, store, sell, or share:
Your extension settings are stored locally in your browser using Chrome/Chromium extension storage so your preferences can persist between pages and sessions.
The extension does not use a remote server to store your reading preferences or selected text in the current version.
When you use the read-aloud feature, the extension sends the text you selected to your browser’s built-in speech synthesis functionality on your device. The current version of the extension does not send that selected text to our servers.
Your browser or operating system may use its own built-in voice services. Those services are governed by the privacy practices of your browser and operating system provider.
The extension changes page presentation in your browser to provide accessibility support. This may include changing page font, spacing, colours, background tinting, and layout presentation. These changes happen locally in your browser and are not intended to alter the original website on its server.
The extension may request access to websites you visit so it can apply accessibility tools on those pages. This access is used only to provide the extension’s functionality.
The current version of Dyslexia Reader Assist does not include third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or remote user-behavior tracking inside the extension itself.
If analytics or account-based premium features are added in a future version, this privacy policy will be updated before those features are released.
